At Star Gas, our mission is to safely, consistently, and economically provide the highest professional standard of energy services and products possible to all individuals and businesses of the Mid-Hudson Region.  We actively support this by the continuing education of our employees, protecting our customer’s families by following local as well as national propane codes, providing propane training to our local fire community, and responding to all types of propane incidents, regardless of the parties involved.

History

Star Gas was founded in 1947 by Ike Katzowiz.  In 1975, Richard and Hermine Muellerleile bought Ike’s business.  Richard became an active member of the National Propane Gas Association in Washington, DC. Through his participation in this important organization, Richard contributed to positive changes in national propane standards, codes, and safety.  Richard’s intent influences us today—we diligently track fuel fluctuations in price and availability in the world market. All of this is done in order to pass on the best value to the customer.  The Muellerleile family and the Star Gas Products, Inc. staff proudly continue to provide propane to a service area that has expanded to 4 counties. We appreciate your patronage.

Who really wants to be out of gas? 

You’ve learned to keep a close eye on your car’s gas gauge. You watch the gauge and fill your tank to avoid being stranded. Running out of gasoline is not just an inconvenience, it could place you and your family at risk. Just like your vehicle’s gas tank, you should also keep watch on the gauge on your propane tank at home.

We’re here to help. 

Star Gas Products, Inc. wants to make sure that you always have hot water and heat for your family. By planning ahead, one can avoid the inconvenience (and cost!) of an out-of-gas call.  You can easily read your own gauge on your propane tank. Read the chart below for more information. You will have to know how many gallons that are required to run the heat, hot water or cooktop if you have one. If you are a will-call account, remember to call your propane dealer and have your tank filled before it reaches the one-quarter (25%) level.
