As a local, full-service energy provider, Stocker Home Energy Services has been offering dependable fuel oil and kerosene delivery, heating services, and air conditioning assistance to the North Shore for more than 70 years. Today, we offer the same great services we always have, as well as natural gas system service and oil to gas conversions for the most complete experience possible.

OUR HISTORY

Stocker Home Energy Services began in June of 1940 when Theodore Stocker, 16 years old, bought Tenny’s Oil Company from Richland Trandella for $45. Ted then started off selling kerosene fuel for lamps and stoves by two-gallon increments at the store. Later, Ted started deliveries, ten gallons at a time. Suddenly, Tenny’s Oil Company became Teddy’s Oil Service.  When World War II began in December of 1940, Ted enlisted in the Navy. With no future plans for the company, Ted gave his customers to Perley Burrill, but when Ted returned in 1946, he got his company back, along with many more customers thanks to Perley.  Over a decade later, in the 1960s, Teddy incorporated the business and changed the name to Stocker Oil Inc. He bought an oil truck and pump and has been making home deliveries ever since.  In 1975, Teddy sold the business to his son, Richard Stocker, after he had graduated from Northeastern University. Richard has taken the small company seed planted by his father and grown a successful garden.  Today Richard’s two children, Mariel & Adam work at the business as well! As a true family business, we hope to continue growing, and still, offer that same small company hospitality and respect our customers have experienced for over 75 years. Stocker Home Energy Services is a full-service company offering automatic delivery, heating system installations and service, air conditioning installations and service, and a 24-hour, 7 days a week commitment to our customers.
