Wisconsin-based SunVest currently serves customers in eight states from coast-to-coast – New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri, Colorado and Washington.  Founded in 2009, we are an experienced solar system company with over 850 customers who have more than 44,000 solar panels, totaling over 20 MW. This equals more than 25 million kWh of solar production every year, saving our customers well over $1.5 million dollars annually.

WHAT WE DO

SunVest Solar serves as general contractor, managing your installation project. We will identify the solar system that meets your goals, help you maximize financing and then hire installers local to you to complete the project.  Local subcontractors are carefully screened to find those with the highest-quality products and proven ability to perform, from completed solar panel installations to third-party certifications.  Combining our subcontractors’ local field experience with our deep understanding of complex funding programs allows SunVest to offer you a solar solution tailored to your needs.

WHAT IS COMMUNITY SOLAR?

A community solar project is an arrangement in which several users subscribe to a single, large solar panel system. Doing so allows subscribers to offset their electricity use with a portion of the electricity generated by the shared solar panel system. The system may be community-owned or owned by a third party.  Community solar projects allow all subscribers to invest in the development of solar power, even if they cannot or do not want to install solar panels on their individual property.  Community solar is sometimes confused with other approaches. It is NOT:

• Group purchasing, in which a large number of property owners purchase individual systems at a bulk rate
• Green power, in which utility customers pay a premium for green forms of energy, usually wind or hydro
• Crowdfunding/online solar investment platforms, which are strictly investment pools and participants do not benefit from the solar power generated
• Solar energy distributed by a utility whose customers have not subscribed to solar power
