The advent of building information modeling (BIM) has revolutionized the construction industry and the way Swinerton conducts operations. Our in-house VDC experts can create, adopt, and manage detailed 3D building models to provide a rich visual display of all building components and systems. These models detect major systems clashes, provide pricing information, assist with site logistics and scheduling, and help identify potential problems well before they arise. Successful model review and management saves costly rework and schedule delays down the road. Data from models can be accessed from anywhere, and updates are shared in real time. Building with BIM fosters collaboration among our project teams, owners, and designers and helps ensure the success of our projects.
Swinerton also offers laser scanning services for our projects. Using this technology, we can laser scan a facility to create a detailed point cloud. This automates and streamlines what once was tedious and time-consuming process to survey as-built conditions on existing building renovations. On new construction, the point cloud is used to confirm design intent, archive building conditions and MEP locations, and measure project progress.
Swinerton can also provide Virtual Reality model reviews, which gives all project stakeholders the chance to visualize the end product and make wise cost-effective design decisions early on in the process.
