After working in the fuel oil industry for several years, the late James A. Talley, Sr. decided to strike out on his own by delivering kerosene. In 1961, with one truck and limited funds, James started City Suburban Oil Company. In 1977, he moved the company from Harrisburg, PA to its present location in Grantville, PA. For the next 23 years the business successfully operated under the name City Suburban Oil Company. In 2000 the name was changed to Talley Petroleum Enterprises.  After James’s death in 1998, his wife and sons took the reins and began to run the business. To continue to operate successfully, Talley Petroleum focused on growing and progressing. With this process came the acquisition of several other firms. These acquisitions allowed Talley Petroleum to expand our services, improve our reach across Pennsylvania, and achieve greater operational efficiency.

Where We Are Now

As of 2016, Talley Petroleum has incorporated a full-time trading department in house to analyze the market, reduce risk, and purchase fuel in the most economically sensible manner. We have also branched into selling distillates to wholesale customers from various terminals across Pennsylvania. These components of the business allow us to generate additional savings and offer customers an even greater value when they choose to do business with Talley Petroleum.

Delivery Options

Select a delivery plan that is most optimal for your business’s needs. Delivery options are available for heating oil, on-road and bio diesel, off-road dyed diesel, and unleaded gasoline, all with additive options. Talley Petroleum is able to deliver quantities ranging from hundreds to thousands of gallons to commercial accounts located within 60 miles of our Grantville, PA office. Fuel service is available to each greater distances through third-party transporters.
