History

Over 60 years ago, Robert Earhart began delivering farm fuels and heating oil to customers in and around Troy, Ohio. Over the years, Robert’s regular fuel deliveries grew into a thriving independent business. In 1979, his son, William Earhart, became the owner and President of Earhart Petroleum, leading the company through nearly 20 years of expansion in home heating oil, wholesale fuels and fleet fueling services.   Now in its third generation of leadership, The R. W. Earhart Company continues to expand, serving more customers in more places than ever before. Our name pays tribute to Robert, William, and all of their hard work and accomplishments. Throughout our history and today, we have been committed to the advancement of our industry and our position in it.

Fueled to Fight

The R.W. Earhart Company is proud to support the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. Each year, teams all over the country and abroad join the Relay movement and gather together to march against cancer and raise awareness and funds needed to eradicate this terrible disease.   Members of the R.W. Earhart Company attend Relay for Life events around the region with our special PURPLE truck, and we ask cancer survivors to autograph the truck in a show of camaraderie and support for those still fighting cancer, a disease that has taken too much. We also donate a penny to the Relay for Life organization for every gallon of propane delivered to our customers from this truck, and we host various other company and community events to give back.
