Ed Cook and Mike Wilkinson founded Thermal Economy in 1981. At that time, Thermal Economy was primarily a manufacturer’s representative selling industrial burners, economizers, boiler controls, and related power equipment.
In 1995, Bruce Darling joined the company. The company continued to operate as a manufacturer’s representative, but soon added control systems project design and fabrication, field service work, project management, and customer training. Over time, the control system portion of Thermal Economy grew substantially, and today it represents the largest segment of our sales.
Additionally, we design custom process control systems for a wide variety of applications. Our customer base has grown to include original equipment manufacturers, manufacturing plants, universities and colleges, hospitals, and various companies that require heat and steam for their operations.
Our employees include mechanical and electrical engineers, service engineers, electrical fabrication specialists, and instrument technicians. We have the knowledge required to design, fabricate, test, commission, and install all of our control systems. Our service engineers also provide boiler startup, burner fuel air setting, and control system startup and tuning. We can provide turnkey services and all of the field startup and commissioning services required for a successful field implementation and startup.
Our personnel are proficient in equipment installation and construction. Therefore, we can provide construction oversight and construction management services.
Thermal Economy has developed strategic alliances with several companies that have specialties in areas different than our own, which allows us to provide additional services to our customers.
