Our cylinder exchange program was pioneered by Scott-Gross Company, a 50 year old welding supply distributor based in Lexington, KY. Scott-Gross, with former President Philip Scott and his team, provided the industry knowledge, working capital, and market insight that led to the successful launch of Thoroughbred in 2003.

History and Company Overview 

 In 2002, Thoroughbred Industrial Cylinder Exchange was created by The Scott-Gross Company, a 50 year old welding supply distributor based in Lexington, KY.   Philip Scott, the former Scott-Gross Company President, provided the industry knowledge, working capital, and market insight that led to the successful launch.  Thoroughbred Industrial Cylinder Exchange has developed the most complete and safely packaged cylinder and gas exchange program in the industry.   Our network includes over 1,000 cylinder exchange locations across the Central and Eastern United States.  Our customers include Farm & Fleet, Hardware, Do It Yourself, Automotive and Industrial customers.   Our company continues to grow as we respond to our customers needs.
