Townsend Gas and Oil, Inc. is a family owned and operated business. James L. Townsend and his son, Jeff, are the core members of this petroleum products distributorship.  The company began in 1985 when Jim purchased the business known as Liggett Gas and Oil, located at 1040 Wayne Avenue, Indiana, PA. The company was renamed Townsend Gas and Oil and continued as a Pennzoil distributor. In 1991 Townsend Gas and Oil incorporated.  With the expansion of Wayne avenue in 1999-2000, and the resulting loss of needed footage at that location, the present site was planned and constructed. The business relocated to this site in the Spring of 2000, with an office-warehouse-garage complex with a “24 hour card lock” fueling island.  With the merger of Pennzoil, Quaker State, then Shell, Townsend Gas & Oil, Inc. now sells these products, along with Brad Penn lubricants, VP Racing products, Gumout, Rain-X wiper blades, and Fram racing filters. We also sell high quality regular and premium gasoline, ultra low k-1 dyed kerosene, on and off road diesel fuels and home heating oil.  Townsend Gas & Oil, Inc. is committed to providing a quality product at a reasonable price. The products we offer to commercial, industrial, farm and residential customers are of the highest quality, not re-refined products, ensuring the best performance for the money.

Townsend Gas and Oil, Inc. is a full line lubricants and fuel distributor. Our Homer City location offers 24/7 convenient fueling. We accept many of the major fuel cards, including Fuelman and Wright Express as well as Visa, Mastercard and Discover. We also offer our own in house cardlock fuel program. We provide quality unbranded top tier gasoline, on & off diesel fuel and K-1 dyed kerosene at our pumps. We offer the delivery of the same quality fuels plus home heating oil.  Being an authorized wholesale lubricant distributor, our lubricant line includes Shell, Pennzoil, Quaker State and Brad Penn products. In 2009 and recertified in 2012 Townsend Gas and Oil, Inc, meets and exceeds Shells DPQA quality assurance certification for quality control for repacking and control of bulk products of Shell, Pennzoil and Quaker State products.
