TriPower Resources, LLC is a privately held Independent Energy Company engaged in the exploration and development of oil and natural gas resources throughout the United States.  TriPower is the successor in interest to Merrico Resources, Inc., formerly owned and operated by the Merrick family of Oklahoma. In 1992 Buttes Gas and Oil purchased certain assets from Merrico.  In December 1992, the present ownership purchased the assets of Buttes Gas and Oil and the company was incorporated as TriPower Resources, Inc.  In June, 2006 Gibbs Holdings, LLC became the sole owner and the name was changed to TriPower Resources, LLC.  We celebrated our twentieth year of operation in December, 2012.  One of the companys primary assets is the experienced and highly talented staff and consulting partners we have in place, which includes James C. Woodson, formerly the Vice-President of Exploration-Worldwide for Samedan Oil Corporation and Noble Affiliates.  TriPower operates and owns an interest in over 400 wells throughout the United States including: Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Kansas, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, Illinois and Louisiana. Our corporate offices are located in Ardmore, Oklahoma. 

Management Profiles

• John D. Gibbs: Mr. Gibbs has served as TriPowers President and Chief Executive Officer since 1992. Mr. Gibbs has over 35 years of experience in the Energy Industry. Additionally, Mr. Gibbs has extensive Accounting and Finance experience. Mr. Gibbs currently serves on the Board of Directors for the OIPA. Mr. Gibbs holds a B.A. in Accounting from California Polytechnic State University.

• Neal Hill: Mr. Hill joined TriPower as our Drilling and Production Manager in 1997. Mr. Hill has over 35 years of experience in the drilling, completion and development of oil and gas wells in Oklahoma and throughout the United States. Mr. Hill gained a variety of industry experience in his previous employment with Mobil Oil Corporation, Westheimer-Neustadt, Kaiser-Frances and the former Merrico Resources, Inc. Mr. Hill holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma. Mr. Hill was also named the 2015 Healdton Oil Man of the Year.

• Jennifer Campo, CPL: Mrs. Campo, our Land Manager, began with Tripower in 2013. Mrs. Campo has over 8 years of experience doing land work in various capacities throughout the industry. Mrs. Campo is a CPL, an active member of the AAPL, and serves on the board for the OCAPL. Mrs. Campo graduated Cum Laude with a B.A. from Oklahoma Baptist University in 2005.

• Jim Woodson: Mr. Woodson is a Consulting Geologist, coming to TriPower in July 2001 from Samedan Oil Corporation. Mr. Woodson retired from Samedan in 2001 as the Vice-President of Exploration and Production. Mr. Woodson brings to our company over 30 years of wide range of both domestic and international experience. He has experience throughout spanning across: Israel, Africa, Argentina, Australia, Indonesia, Vietnam, the North Sea and China, as well as Gulf of Mexico and every major producing basin in the domestic United States. He holds a B.S. and M.S. in Geology from the University of Arkansas.

• Douglas R. Maercklein: Mr. Maercklein is a Professional Geologist with over 40 years of experience. Mr. Maercklein is an active member of the American Association of Professional Geologist. Mr. Maercklein has completed sundry geological projects in Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas. He has located multiple successful gas and oil fields for TriPower. Mr. Maercklein has a B.S. in Geology and an M.S. in Geological Sciences, both from the University of Wisconsin.

• Jimmy L. Thornton: Mr. Thornton is a Certified Petroleum Engineer with over 45 years of industry experience throughout Oklahoma and the United States. Mr. Thornton generates and maintains TriPowers reserve reports and serves as an expert witness for TriPower at the Oklahoma Corporation Commission. He holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas.

• Dub Curry: Mr. Curry handles all inventory, permitting and governmental reporting for TriPower. He has over 50 years of experience in the Oil and Gas Industry. He holds a B.S. from North Texas State University.

• Jeff James: Mr. James is TriPowers Field Superintendent, handling all production, drilling, and pumper supervision. He brings 30+ years of oil and gas experience to TriPower. Mr. James was also named as Seminole Oil Man of the Year Award in 2012

• Diane Allen: Mrs. Allen serves as TriPowers Corporate Secretary and Office Manager. She has been with TriPower since its inception and has over 25 years of management experience in the Oil and Gas Industry and over 20 years of experience in the Finance Industry.
