Propane – The Safe Choice For Your Family

Although propane is a safe and reliable fuel, as with other energy products, hazards may develop with improper installation and poor service. For safety, ethyl mercaptan is added to the odorless propane gas to produce an unmistakable, sulphurous odor – not unlike rotten eggs. Ask your Wilson Gas representative to let you smell the gas so that you can identify the odor. A propane leak is heavier than air and, without proper ventilation, can collect in low places like basements, pits, and on floors. Use your nose!
