Windfree Wind and Solar Energy Company was founded early in 2009 by a team of creative energy visionaries and early adopters of sustainable technologies. Windfree's team includes a well-respected, multi-disciplinary group of Chicago’s business, architectural, artistic and community leaders. The team believes alternative energy solutions must be researched, installed, monitored, tested and be supported by local legislation. For potential clients, from institutions to private users and from architects to families, we can assess energy needs, outline objectives, determine appropriate energy solutions, implement the necessary systems and processes from purchasing to installation and from project management to permitting and future energy planning. Our services
- System design is a team approach based on system size and location. We have an in-house CAD engineer, and our premier architect partners will ensure your system meet all client specifications and building regulations. Additionally, we partner with component manufacturers â that coordinate system design and architectural drawings to ensure the best system size and layout to accomplish client renewable energy generation goals.
- Our first step to a successful project is to perform a complete site evaluation. Our second step is to complete system design, electrical and structural engineering, and architectural drawings sealed for permitting and/or permit expediting service. Windfree’s project management staff works closely with the installers, architects, engineers, procurement team, and the client’s utility to coordinate every step of the installation. Windfree uses NABCEP and ICC distributed generation certified installers on every project.
- Our equipment comes from tier-one manufacturers with full-performance warranties and product guarantees. Upon completion of the installation, our team will commission the solar array and test all aspects of the system to make sure it is functioning properly. We prepare the monitoring system to enable customers to collect and access data via web or mobile devices. For two years following the completion of the project, we monitor the system via the web and conducts bi-annual site visits to check your system. We don't limit any of the services that we provide due to geographic proximity, guaranteeing you the most reliable and efficient system available to you.
