Wintershall Noordzee, an international exploration and production company, was first established in 1965 as Pennzoil Nederland Company, in those days a pioneering independent operator. Over the years, Wintershall Noordzee has developed and matured, creating the basis of the company it is today.
In October 2015, the company structure of Wintershall Noordzee was changed from a 100% subsidiary to a joint-venture company with Wintershall Dea GmbH (through its subsidiary Wintershall Nederland B.V.) and PJSC Gazprom (through its subsidiary Gazprom E&P International B.V.) each holding 50% of the shares.
One of the larger producers of natural gas in the Dutch sector of the Southern North Sea, Wintershall Noordzee operates more than 20 offshore production installations and 6 subsea wells. In recent years, we have further expanded our operated portfolio to the continental shelves of Germany, the United Kingdom and Denmark.
