Energy conservation

Cogeneration (combined heat and power—CHP)

Cogeneration, or Combined Heat and Power (CHP), provides an optimal way to produce electricity and thermal energy from a single fuel source, thus reducing the overall cost and reliance on purchased electrical power and fuel. In fact, a healthy, green CHP plant can increase an overall utility plant’s efficiency by 40% over standard generation.

Alternative fuels and energy

Today’s manufacturers are looking beyond traditional utilities to power their facilities. Alternative fuels consist of other types of materials that can be used as energy:

• Bio-mass: wood and tire derived fuel (TDF)

• Non-fossil methane (landfill gas)

• Excess plant waste.

Woodstone Energy has broad experience with installing new and retrofitting existing systems in the bio-mass and alternative energy arenas. We can engineer and implement a variety of readily accessible, alternative fuel sources, using local resources to save on the sourcing and running of that fuel. Plus, we can assist with negotiating and acquiring the fuel from area suppliers.
