BowArk Energy Ltd. is an independently owned utility scale power developer based in Calgary, Alberta. The BowArk team has been involved in the development, financing and construction of over 1900 MW of independent power projects located across North America, representing an investment of over $3.0 billion. Most recently, BowArk, in cooperation with its Partners, Pattern Energy Group and Algonquin Power Income Fund, successfully developed, financed and constructed 3 wind projects in Manitoba and Ontario, representing an installed capacity of over 500 MW. BowArk continues to develop renewable and thermal power projects with over 600 MW of projects in different stages of development.
In May 2015, Clearwater Fine Foods Inc. (“CFFI”) obtained a 50% shareholder interest in BowArk Ltd. CFFI is a diversified holding company located in Bedford Nova Scotia. With over $1 billion in assets, it’s major interests include a significant stake in Clearwater Seafoods Inc., North America’s largest vertically integrated harvester, processor, and distributor of premium shellfish, and a significant investment in a publically traded telecommunications company doing business in 42 countries in the Caribbean and Latin America. Additionally, CFFI is an active investor/shareholder in numerous early stage entities ranging across a variety of industries and jurisdictions.
BowArk has been developing renewable energy projects since 2003 and has successfully developed and financed three wind farms across Canada. BowArk is continually looking for projects across the country and working with stakeholders in various regions.
