The partnership has identified four main goals- replacing foreign coal with American natural gas, assisting in achieving the pollution limits set by the Paris Agreement, delivering the security needs of the U.S. allies and boosting energy supplies so as to reduce the impacts of rising inflation.
Toby Rice, CEO, EQT Corp. highlighted the need for speedy approvals to build more infrastructure that will help to get natural gas from where they are produced to where they are in need.
According to Energy Information Administration (EIA) forecasts, the U.S. LNG exports are projected to average at around 11.2 Bcf/d in 2022, 12.7 Bcf/d in 2023. The country will likely attain peak LNG export capacity of over 18 Bcf/d by end-2025. The production and exports have been on the rise since 2016.
