Kinder Morgan Sanctioned Evangeline Natural Gas Pipeline Project

SEATTLE (Oil Monster): Kinder Morgan Inc. announced that it has sanctioned the 2 Bcf/d Evangeline Pass pipeline project valued at around $678 million. This comes nearly after a year of receiving approval from the federal government. The project had recently received credit support from Venture Global LNG.

The project would be implemented in two phases and is expected to bring about modifications and enhancements to the Tennessee Gas Pipeline and Southern Natural Gas Co. systems in Mississippi and Louisiana. As per Venture Global estimates, 50% of the capacity for the first phase of the project is expected to come online next year, followed by the next 50% by end-2025.

Venture Global expects the proximity of Kinder’s midstream network throughout Texas and Louisiana to deliver significant benefits. It also targets Kinder Morgan’s access to multiple production basins.

In addition, it also noted that construction is progressing well on the 550 MMcf/d expansion of the Permian Highway Pipeline, which is scheduled for November ramp up.

Meantime, Kinder’s natural gas transport volumes recorded surge in Q4 last year. The robust demand from power generation and local distribution companies resulted in 4% year-on-year rise in volumes.
