SEATTLE (Oil Monster): A construction subsidiary of Sinopec Oilfield Service Corporation has secured a major engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for a new natural gas pipeline project in China. The project has been awarded to Sinopec Oil Engineering and Construction Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of the company.

The contract, valued at approximately RMB 1.772 billion (US$246 million), covers the construction of a 279-kilometre section of the Heihe-Daqing and Daqing-Changling natural gas pipeline. The contract value is equivalent to roughly 2.2% of its 2025 operating revenue under Chinese accounting standards.

According to the company, work on the pipeline is expected to take about 710 days to complete. The new pipeline is designed to enhance China's natural gas transportation network and boost energy supplies across various regions. Additionally, the project is expected to further strengthen its presence in China's energy construction market.

The award of the contract to the company reflects customer confidence in its technical capabilities and extensive experience in building long-distance pipeline systems.

Meanwhile, Sinopec noted that the agreement has not yet been formally signed and that it is subject to final contract execution and other customary conditions. The project will officially commence only upon completion of the above requirements.
