West Branch RNG will construct methane digesters to produce renewable natural gas, which will be injected to Sioux Center natural gas distribution system. The project will be implemented in partnership with renewable natural gas infrastructure company, Novilla RNG, who will cover the estimated $5.2 million cost. Also, an 8-mile natural gas line will be built by the Sioux Center to connect the main digester to the community’s system. The other partners of the project are Maurice area dairymen Junior Hoogland, Aaron Maassen and Brian Roorda.

Once fully operational, West Branch RNG expects to supply up to 300 MMBtu of natural gas a day. The future plans include supply of natural gas to the Sioux County Regional Airport or even the city of Maurice.
