SEATTLE (Oil Monster): In order to establish a fifth natural gas liquids (NGL) fractionation train at its Ruwais gas processing facility in Abu Dhabi, leading natural gas distribution operator ADNOC Gas announced that it has selected contractors to take part in an engineering design update competition. It is anticipated that the NGL train will be able to produce roughly 22,000 tons per day annually.
The Ruwais NGL Train 5 project has chosen JGC Corporation of Japan, Technip Energies of France, and Tecnimont of Italy as its feed work contractors. According to insiders, the business has already met with each of the aforementioned companies to brief them on the project's scope of work.
The project's scope of work includes the NGL fractionation facility, as well as the required structures, electrical power connections, and two propane and one paraffinic naphtha storage tank.
Based on the design of the Ruwais NGL Train 4, which was put into service in 2014 and has a daily output capacity of 27,000 tonnes, the project's feed has to be upgraded.
A group comprising Spanish contractor Tecnicas Reunidas, South Korean firm GS Engineering & Construction, and UK-based Petrofac were among the other contenders for the project.
