Brazil’s Oil and Gas Production Hit Fresh Records in July

SEATTLE (Oil Monster): For the first time in history, Brazil’s daily oil and natural gas production surpassed the 5 million mark. The country recorded a production of 5.160 million per day, said staistics released by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP).

According to the monthly bulletin released by the industry regulator, oil production in the month stood at 3.959 million barrels per day, higher by 5.4% when compared with June this year and significantly higher by 22.5% upon comparison with July last year.

Meanwhile, the natural gas production in July 2025 was 190.89 million cubic meters per day, higher by 5.1% from the prior month and by 26.1% from the same month a year before.

Out of the total oil production in July this year, 97.7% came from offshore fields. Also, 86.1% of the total natural gas production came from seas. The production in pre-salt fields accounted for 79.1% of the total in July 2025.

The largest oil and gas producing state in the country was Rio de Janiero, which accounted for 88% of the country’s total oil production and 77% of the total natural gas production, ANP data said.

Brazil is the world’s eighth largest oil producer. The top five oil producing countries- the U.S., Russia, Saudi Arabia, Canada and Iran accounts for nearly half of the global production.
