SEATTLE (Oil Monster): A consortium comprising of leading LNG infrastructure company GAS Entec, its group company AG&P and local partner Issa Haddadin has been awarded a contract to build an LNG terminal at Port of Aqaba in Jordan. The tender to build the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah onshore regasification LNG Terminal was awarded by state-owned Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC), who is the customer for the facility.

The contract covers full engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning of the facility. As per the terms of the contract, marine works, jetty topside work and other associated components must be completed, commissioned and delivered within a period of 22 months. Accordingly, the tentative commissioning date of the project has been fixed as Q2 2026.
The new LNG terminal project will provide Jordan with the flexibility to access LNG from global suppliers. Incidentally, the country relies on natural gas for its needs, but has been facing supply related issues. The new terminal is also expected to bolster Jordan’s energy security in addition to contributing to the country’s economic development.
The award of the project marks a significant milestone for GAS Entec and AG&P. They were selected from a pool of competing companies.
