SEATTLE (Oil Monster): According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration's (EIA) most current Short-Term Energy Outlook (STEO) report, output of natural gas and oil from the Federal Offshore Gulf of America (GOA) is anticipated to stay steady through 2026.
GOA's crude oil output is expected to average 1.80 million barrels per day (b/d) in 2025 and 1.81 million b/d in 2026, according to the EIA's prediction. When compared to 1.77 million b/d in 2024, this is higher. In 2025 and 2026, the GOA's natural gas output is expected to average 1.72 and 1.64 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d), respectively. This contrasts with 2024's 1.79 Bcf/d.

In 2025 and 2026, the estimated production would make up around 13% of the country's crude oil production and 1% of its marketed natural gas production.
In 2025 and 2026, the EIA anticipates that operators will begin producing natural gas and crude oil from 13 GOA fields. In 2025 and 2026, the extra crude oil output from all new fields will contribute 85,000 barrels per day and 308,000 barrels per day, respectively. Additionally, the additional fields will produce an average of 0.09 Bcf/d of natural gas in 2025 and 0.27 Bcf/d in 2026.
Earlier this year, three fields—Whale, Ballymore, and Dover—started to produce. In H2 2025, Shenandoah, Leon, and Castile are anticipated to become online. Additionally, it is anticipated that three new subsea tiebacks—Silvertip Phase 3, Longclaw, and Monument—will start production the following year.
