SEATTLE (Oil Monster): The latest short term energy outlook (STEO) report published by the U.S. Energy Information Administration’s (EIA) foresees rise in U.S. crude oil production during the current year. The production is expected to rise to average at around 13.42 million barrels per day in 2025.
It is anticipated that the Lower 48 states—aside from the Gulf of America—will contribute close to 11.17 million barrels per day to the production. Of the 11.17 million barrels per day, 6.54 million are anticipated to come from the Permian basin. Production is anticipated to be 1.19, 1.17, 0.17, and 0.03 million barrels per day in the Bakken, Eagle Ford, Appalachia, and Haynesville regions, respectively. According to the STEO, the remaining states in the Lower 48 are anticipated to produce 2.07 million barrels per day.

According to the STEO, the Federal Gulf of America is expected to produce 1.81 million barrels per day, with Alaska providing the remaining 0.43 million barrels per day.
The EIA predicts that the average daily production of crude oil in the United States will be 13.52 million barrels in the second quarter of this year, 13.41 million barrels in the third quarter, and 13.43 million barrels in the fourth quarter of 2025.
According to STEO, the first quarter of 2025 saw an average of 13.29 million barrels of crude oil produced daily in the United States.
