SEATTLE (Oil Monster): The state-owned Libyan business, the National Oil Corporation (NOC), declared that a pipeline would be shut down immediately when a leak was discovered. The leak was found in a pipeline connecting the Hamada oil reserves, south of the city of Zawiya. It added that crews have already been sent out to limit the oil spill and look into what happened.

According to reports, as soon as the leak was verified, NOC halted all pumping operations from the Hamada fields. The valve in the city of Alriyayna was closed to isolate the impacted area. Additionally, the Zawiya refinery opened its relief valves to lower the pipeline system's pressure.
The precise amounts of oil lost were not disclosed by the firm. It also didn't mention how much production capacity was affected by the leak. The refinery contributes significantly to the supply of domestic markets. The local logistical chain may be disrupted by an extended delay.
Whether foreign technical partners are involved in continuing repair activities has not been revealed by the NOC authorities. Furthermore, it has not provided a date for the refinery's production to resume.
