SEATTLE (Oil Monster): Shell Trinidad and Togabo announced final investment decision (FID) on Aphrodite gas field in the East Coast Marine Area (ECMA).
By strengthening its efforts to improve its integrated gas business, the company's strategic decision to start production will further solidify its position as the industry leader in the gas-rich region. It should be mentioned that the company's biggest gas-producing fields in the nation, Dolphin, Starfish, Bounty, and Endeavour, are owned by the ECMA.

The gas field's development is contingent upon obtaining the required regulatory permissions. By 2027, Shell anticipates beginning production from the field. Around 18,400 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd) are expected to be produced at its peak.
Through the National Gas Company, the business plans to deliver the gas from Aphrodite to the domestic market. In the meanwhile, Shell's onshore Beachfield gas processing facility will handle the gas exports to foreign markets.
Trinidad and Tobago's Energy Minister, Roodal Moonilal, said the nation is happy that Shell has advanced the Aphrodite project to FID. Gas production from the field is anticipated to be around 107 million cubic feet per day. He also expressed satisfaction with the project's stated schedule.
The nation's Energy Ministry promised to cooperate with Shell in order to guarantee the project's prompt and safe completion.
