Uniper Announced Plans to Build Natural Gas Power Station in Humber

SEATTLE (Oil Monster): Plans to construct a 470 megawatt (MW) natural gas-powered power plant in the Humber region of England were revealed by Uniper SA. There will also be a carbon capture facility at the plant. It is anticipated that the power plant will annually supply electricity to around 1.1 million households.

The large gas and power company recently bought a piece of property from C.GEN Killingholme Ltd. next to its current Killingholme power station site, where it intends to build a combined-cycle gas turbine (CGGT) power station. With the approved CCGT station, the projected Killingholme Low Carbon Power Project would move forward.

Cutting-edge carbon capture equipment will be used to absorb the emissions from the process of producing power. In distant gas fields, the captured carbon dioxide will be securely transferred to long-term offshore storage facilities. A separate planning approval will be needed for the carbon capture project.

The business promised to notify stakeholders and local communities of the proposal's comprehensive plans before submitting them to the appropriate planning authorities for approval. By the end of the present decade, the company plans to deliver the carbon capture facility and the gas power station. It is anticipated that the front-end engineering design studies would start later this year.
