Woodside Energy Restarts Pluto LNG Loading After Cyclone Disruption

SEATTLE (Oil Monster):Woodside Energy has resumed ship loading operations at its Pluto LNG facility in Western Australia after disruptions caused by Tropical Cyclone Narelle last week.

The Pluto LNG project, which has a production capacity of 4.9 million tonnes per annum from a single processing train, is gradually returning to normal operations. A second train remains under development as part of the Scarborough gas project, with start-up targeted later this year.

The company confirmed that loading activities restarted following the reopening of the Port of Dampier, highlighting the resilience of Western Australia’s LNG supply chain amid ongoing global supply constraints. In parallel, Woodside has begun remobilising its offshore workforce after cyclone-related interruptions impacted operations at the Karratha Gas Plant.

The operator is implementing a structured restart plan across its Western Australian assets after Narelle weakened into a tropical low.

Woodside reiterated that safety remains its top priority, covering personnel, environmental protection, and asset integrity. The company also confirmed continued domestic gas supply, noting that production from Pluto and Macedon facilities is supporting Western Australia’s energy security requirements.
