SEATTLE (Oil Monster): The Greek gas grid operator DEFSA declared that the Revithoussa liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility had been upgraded. The improvements were intended to increase the port operations' sustainability.
On April 22, the Revithoussa LNG terminal, which is situated on the island of Revithoussa, was scheduled to shut down in order to integrate a new high-pressure boil-off gas (BOG) compressor station. A social media post states that on May 12, the terminal reopened for business. According to the statement, the new compressor station should soon be operating.
The station provides a sustainable approach to boil-off gas management. It will inject LNG vapors into the high-pressure network after capturing them from the terminal's tanks. The Revithoussa terminal will now have zero carbon dioxide emissions as a result of flaring being eliminated during regular operations.
The business performed planned maintenance and required inspections at the terminal during the outage. In order to further expand its bunkering operations, it also completed tie-in work for the construction of a small-scale LNG jetty.
It should be noted that the Revithoussa terminal can store 225,000 cubic meters (cbm) of LNG and regasify 1,400 cbm per hour.
