
SEATTLE (Oil Monster): Egypt and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) are exploring new opportunities to expand cooperation in natural gas exploration and production. This is part of ongoing efforts by both countries to strengthen energy security through upstream investments.
During a visit to Abu Dhabi, Egypt's Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, met with ADNOC Managing Director and Group CEO Sultan Al Jaber to discuss increasing investments in Egypt's natural gas sector. The discussions focused on expanding exploration activities, developing existing gas fields, and identifying new opportunities in the Mediterranean and Red Sea regions.

The two sides also reviewed the progress of Arcius Energy, the joint venture between ADNOC and bp, which aims to boost natural gas production in Egypt through exploration projects, producing assets, and fields currently under development. As part of its 2026 strategy, the company intends to move forward with the Harmattan project and begin offshore drilling, starting with the West Atoll exploration well. It will also continue supporting the development of the Zohr and North Damietta gas fields.
Officials further discussed attracting investment into undeveloped Mediterranean gas discoveries and unexplored offshore blocks to increase domestic gas output. In addition, both countries discussed ways to expand the presence of Egyptian engineering firms Enppi and Petrojet in the UAE. Also, they agreed to advance digital transformation and artificial intelligence applications across Egypt's oil and gas industry.
