Finland’s FSRU-Based Facility in Port of Inkoo Received New Cargo of LNG

SEATTLE (Oil Monster): According to Gasgrid, Finland’s first FSRU-based facility in the Port of Inkoo has received a new cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG).

Malta-registered LNG Tanker Minerva Limnos delivered a full LNG cargo to Excelerate Energy’s 150,900-cbm, FSRU Exemplar, which serves Gasgrid’s import facility in Inkoo. The regasified LNG was injected into its gas network for delivery to industry and energy plants, said Gasgrid. The shipment was delivered to the FSRU from Venture Global LNG’s Calcasieu Pass plant in Louisiana.

The FSRU-based facility in Finland had earlier received a cargo onboard the 142,700-cbm Arctic Voyager from Equinor’s Hammerfest LNG plant in Norway. In April, LNG carrier Solaris had delivered a shipment from Cheniere’s Corpus Christi LNG terminal in the US to Inkoo.

Around one to two vessels are expected to arrive at the FSRU-based Inkoo facility every month, said Gasgrid.

It must be noted that Gasgrid had received approval from the Finnish Energy Authority to start offering reloading services at the facility in the port of Inkoo to boost the terminal’s utilization rate. This will provide terminal users to choose from their preference in offtaking LNG from the terminal. In addition, reloading service will ensure supply to areas without pipeline coverage.
