SEATTLE (Oil Monster): Viridi Energy announced launch of its first company operated renewable natural gas (RNG) facility in Summerdale, Baldwin County Alabama, in collaboration with the Solid Waste Disposal Authority of Baldwin County.
The newly launched facility is located at the Magnolia landfill and is designed to convert methane-rich landfill gas into pipeline-quality RNG. It will have a capacity to produce over 160,000 MMBtu of RNG annually. The project is expected to ensure a consistent revenue stream for the County, in addition to delivering significant environmental benefits. The company has entered into a long-term offtake agreement with ACT Group for supply of output from the facility.

Dan Crouse, CEO, Viridi Energy stated that it is a defining moment for the company, as the Baldwin County site represents its first operation under the Viridi name. The project demonstrates the potential of public-private partnerships in transforming waste into valuable resources, he added.
Terri Graham, CEO, Solid Waste Disposal Authority of Baldwin County noted that the RNG facility represents a major step forward for the Baldwin County and its residents. The Authority is delighted to partner with Viridi on the groundbreaking initiative, he added.
