SEATTLE (Oil Monster): Woodside Energy has formalized a long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply deal with Türkiye’s state-owned pipeline operator, Boru Hatlari ile Petrol Tasima A.S. (BOTAS), strengthening energy cooperation between the two parties.
The newly signed sale and purchase agreement secures the delivery of around 5.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas equivalent, translating to roughly 0.5 million tonnes per annum of LNG. Supplies are scheduled to commence in 2030 and continue for up to nine years, providing BOTAS with a stable source of LNG to support Türkiye’s growing energy demand.

The agreement converts a previously non-binding heads of agreement reached in September 2025 into a definitive contract, underscoring both companies’ commitment to expanding collaboration across the LNG supply chain. Most of the LNG volumes will be sourced from Woodside’s Louisiana LNG project in the United States, which is currently under development, supplemented by cargoes from Woodside’s global portfolio.
Woodside’s Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, Mark Abbotsford, described the deal as a significant step, noting it marks the company’s first long-term LNG supply arrangement with the Turkish market. He added that the agreement highlights Woodside’s portfolio flexibility and its capability to meet long-term international supply commitments.
