SEATTLE (Oil Monster): In its latest report, BMI cut its Henry Hub price forecast. The prices are now expected to average $3.2 per million British thermal units (MMBtu) in 2025, $3.6 per MMBtu in 2026, $3.8 per MMBtu in 2027, and $4 per MMBtu across 2028 and 2029, said the report.
This compares with the earlier report in February, which had projected that the commodity prices will average $3.4 per MMBtu in 2025, $3.8 per MMBtu across 2026 and 2027, and $4 per MMBtu across 2028 and 2029.

According to BMI analysts, the Henry Hub annual average price forecast for the current year was reduced by 5.9% from the previous forecast, mainly on account of the rapid natural gas stockpile build and a looser fundamental outlook. The early end to the heating season resulted in build in natural gas storage by mid-March, significantly earlier than historic trends. Consequently, Henry Hub prices recorded substantial decline, falling by almost 28% to $2.95 per MMBtu.
Despite mounting headwinds, the strong price gains witnessed over the first quarter of the year should deliver annual price gains of 33% in 2025, BMI noted.
Meanwhile, the latest short term energy outlook (STEO) released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) has increased its Henry Hub natural gas spot price forecast for 2025 and 2026.
